The beautiful and sustainable BC Cedar siding was selected as a finish to this amazing home. We utilized Miller Shingle out of WA, who organized BC red Cedar in premium grade shingle for us. They have an incredible paint booth system that can apply stain to all sides of the shakes for maximum durability and premium effect. Cabot stain, Alagash green was selected. It was designed to match Real Cedar tree colors as it matures and ages.

This is applied using a 6 inch reveal which is the most striking, but also uses the most shingles and of course provides better sound and insulation qualities. We laser mapped the house using storey boards and the final layer was less than 1/16th of an inch from one corner of the house to any other corner. This house was built with precision and on a bed rock base, utilizing all Douglas fir local wood for all framing. It will never move. We utilized all stainless steel nails / staples in the application of the cedar siding.

All corners, both inside and outside are mitered and cut to precision on each layer. Each and every single was requested by us to be of the finest quality with zero knots or sub premium shingles supplied. Each shingle was then inspected before application and this house does not have a single cedar shingle that is with a blemish or knot, nothing. Every single one is perfect. Hats off to Miller Shingle by the way, we did not have to discard a single one.
